Illinois House Republican Leader Jim Durkin recently presented the Ovation to Business Award to Secure Source America LLC, SSA, a Lemont based manufacturer of Personal Protective Equipment founded in response to the crippling shortages of protective masks and gloves American first responders, hospitals, and senior living centers experienced during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Hamilton Chang, a partner at Secure Source America, is proud that they are a “first generation Asian-American woman-owned company that stepped up to fill a gaping hole in the PPE supply chain- masks and gloves made in the USA.”
SSA began manufacturing 3-ply masks at their 160,000 sq ft facility when they recognized the critical need for reputable, quality tested safe protective gear—especially for local nursing homes, hospitals, and essential workers. Their masks are registered with the FDA and have been independently tested by national laboratories for effectiveness. Driven by a focused entrepreneurial spirit SSA can now produce millions of high quality masks and gloves each year. Chang notes that SSA was founded with a purpose, “Manufacturing PPE locally-Delivering when it matters!”
“May, being Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage month, is the perfect time for us to recognize outstanding businesses and business practices in the community,” said Durkin. “Small business like Secure Source America are a shining example of the contributions made to our state and nation by the Asian American community. We can all take pride in celebrating Secure Source America as an extraordinary example of a business stepping up to deliver necessary, high quality goods at a time when our community, state, and nation needed it the most. These neighbors and Americans saw the need for trustworthy safety equipment to be produced in Illinois the right way and they stepped up to the challenge.”
“We are honored to be recognized during Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage month but even more proud to follow in the tradition of other immigrant founded companies who are making a difference,” Chang said.
