“Have Courage and Be Kind” Remembering Brooks Tonn

Leader Durkin presents Brooks Tonn Resolution on the House Floor

Today, Leader Jim Durkin presented a resolution in honor of Brooks Tonn, a young man who inspired many through his positivity, his caring spirit, and his courage. Even as Brooks battled a rare form of cancer he never gave up hope and, through it all, he was always more concerned about the well-being of others than he was about himself.

Sadly, Brooks lost his battle with cancer at just 10 years old. His parents started the Brooks Strong Foundation in his memory to help other families and children battling pediatric cancer.

HJR 13 designates the 47th Street Bridge over Interstate 294 as the “Brooks Edwin Tonn Memorial Bridge” in honor of this amazing young man.
