Bridge dedicated in honor of Kelli Joy O’Laughlin

State Representative Jim Durkin and Senator John Curran joined the family of Kelli Joy O’Laughlin at a ceremony to dedicate a bridge in memory of Kelli who was murdered in a 2011 home invasion.

Kelli was a 14-year-old freshman at Lyons Township High School when she was murdered. Her death ravaged the communities surrounding her Indian Head Park home for years.

Rep. Durkin introduced HJR 78 to dedicate the Plainfield Road Bridge over the Interstate 294 as the “Kelli Joy O’Laughlin Memorial Bridge” to honor Kelli’s life, legacy and long-lasting impact she had on the community.
